The first workshop, "Do Good and Do Well", of 'Train’ for Life's Journeys 2.0 on December 19, 2023 was a great success! Mr Jackie Cheung, MTR's Chief Digital Development & Innovation Manager, shared the progress of MTR’s Smart Mobility programme with the students in the workshop. He highlighted the advancements in providing caring and personalised travel experience and driving inclusive travel environment with the use of technology. Mr Chester Cheng, Co-founder of Carbon Wallet (MTR Lab Subsidiary) shared his journey of co-founding "Carbon Wallet," Hong Kong's one-stop platform for green lifestyle rewards. He passionately explained the platform's origins and showcased its functionalities to the students.

Make Our World A Better Place - Sharing by NGO

The second workshop, “Make Our World A Better Place”, was held on January 22, 2024! We had the pleasure of inviting two guests from The Zubin Foundation, one of MTR’s ESG Project Allies: Mr Matthew Yu, Communications and Partnerships Director and Ms Kulwinder Kaur Dhaliwal, Senior Project Officer. They generously shared insights into their organisation’ contributions and future initiatives. The sharing sessions were inspirational, encouraging secondary school students to cultivate social awareness and act as responsible global citizens.

Design Thinking Workshop

The third workshop - Design Thinking was hosted on February 23. We were honored to have Professor Carrie Ling from HKUST to share with us the approach and 5 key steps of Design Thinking. We hope that all the students and teachers who attended the workshop found it inspiring and valuable!

Coding For Apps Workshop

On March 19, we held our fourth workshop through online live streaming: Coding for Apps Workshop! Students had an amazing time during the workshop, learning from Mr Peter Chung, an executive committee member from The Association of I.T. Leaders in Education, on how to develop apps without even writing a single line of code! Participating students experienced using pre-made components that can be easily combined and tailored to suit their needs to create an app.

Presentation Skills Workshop

We organised our fifth workshop on May 4 - Presentation Skills Workshop. Mr Joseph Lin shared valuable public speaking tips and advice to our finalists, enhancing their abilities in delivering compelling and impactful presentations. He also demonstrated how to effectively use generative AI tools to aid in crafting a compelling presentation script and improving the overall presentation.
